Vineyard 55 in Old Town Bluffton to relocate next month
A popular Old Town eatery will soon depart its Calhoun Street address.
Vineyard 55 owner Jon Rinaldi confirmed the wine bar is relocating, but declined to say when its last day of operation at 55 Calhoun St. will be. He said Tuesday he expects to relocate in October.
When asked for details about why he was moving, Rinaldi said his lawyer, Roberts Vaux, advised him not to answer questions.
Don Guscio is the listed property owner for 55 Calhoun St. Guscio operates out of 56 Calhoun St., which is also the home of The Store, run by his wife, Babbie Guscio.
Babbie Guscio -- who is also a columnist for The Bluffton Packet, a weekly publication by The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette -- returned a voicemail left for Don Guscio.
"Their lease was up," she said, in reference to the Vineyard 55 relocation.
When asked whether she knew if Vineyard 55 sought lease renewal, Babbie Guscio declined further comment, adding she wasn't involved in the process.
Vineyard 55 has been in operation since March 2011. Spa Vino on Calhoun, a separate business on the second floor at 55 Calhoun St., will remain open, according to owner Lorrie Lancaster.
Two other businesses have left Calhoun Street this year.

Bernie Haag, owner of The Filling Station Art Gallery, left 69 Calhoun St., in April after eight years of business there. Both Haag and Golson moved their stores to nearby Lawton Street.
