Bluffton gift-basket company offers jobs to disabled individuals
A new e-commerce company has a special group of employees.
Aunt Laurie's, a new Bluffton-based company that sells handmade gift sets, employs team members who have disabilities, according to a news release.
"Our goal is to provide opportunity for clients to learn job skills and to feel more valuable," said Laurie Brown, founder and owner of Aunt Laurie's. "Through this, we can make a difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities and make it possible for them to continue to lead a more productive life."
The team members assemble and package the gift baskets at the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department Center in Beaufort. Additionally, the release said Aunt Laurie's works with organizations that employ those with disabilities, including Lambs Farm, Programs for Exceptional People and Extraordinary Ventures.
Gift basket themes include "just dogs," day at the spa and thank you. Baskets start at $24.95 and can be shipped nationwide.
