Richards steps down as Bluffton historical society director
Maureen Richards, the executive director of the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society, stepped down from her position Friday after 11 years of working for the organization and the Cole-Heyward House.
Richards, who had served as executive director since 2008, gave notice to the society's board of directors last month that she would resign, board vice president Emmett McCracken said.
Attempts to reach Richards for comment Friday were unsuccessful.
Katie Epps, manager of the Heyward House Historic Center, will be the interim executive director, McCracken said. A permanent director won't be picked until after the board's elections in February, McCracken said.
