Boat Landing: Hurricane Idalia during and after the storm passed

The H. E. Trask Sr. Boat Landing at the end of Sawmill Creek Road in Bluffton saw considerable water inundation from Hurricane Idalia during both the high and spring tide as well as Iadlia’s storm surge. The photo on the left taken on Wednesday at 8:10 p.m. shows part of the landing underwater. The photo on the right, taken the next day at 1:25 p.m. as the river was nearing low tide, shows how high the tide reached by the remaining reeds left on the landing. The boat landing gives users access to the Colleton and Chechessee rivers.
