Bus excursion planned to next month’s Volvo Car Open tennis

The Port Royal Racquet Club is organizing a bus outing to take in a day of competition at next month’s Volvo Car Open women’s tennis tournament near Charleston.

Cost for the April 5 trip is $50, which covers a general admission ticket and the bus ride. Ticket upgrades will be available at the box office upon arrival. The bus will leave the racquet club at 8 a.m. and return around 7 p.m.

The Volvo Car Open, which had its beginnings as the Family Circle Cup on Hilton Head Island, is set for April 2-10 at Daniel Island. Angelique Kerber, recently crowned as Australian Open champion, is defending champion in a field that also includes Madison Keys, Sloane Stephens, Eugenie Bouchard, Jelena Jankovic and Venus Williams.
