Pegula, Oudin fall in US Open doubles

A day after getting knocked out of the singles draw, former Smith Stearns student Jessica Pegula, along with her partner Melanie Oudin, were knocked out of the doubles draw Thursday with a first-round loss to Switzerland's Timea Bacsinszky and Taiwan's Chia-Jung Chuang, 6-4, 7-6.

The 21-year-old Pegula is ranked 260th in singles and 444th in doubles and advanced through qualifying to make the main draw. She's finally healthy after missing almost two years following knee surgery.
