Hilton Head Island's Ann Hunt wins USTA SC's Slew Hester Award
A local adult tennis player has earned accolades for her outstanding performance in 2014, the USTA South Carolina announced earlier this month.
Hilton Head Island’s Ann Hunt will be honored at a banquet on Saturday as one of the recipients of the Slew Hester Adult Achievement Award. The award is given each year to a ranked adult female and male player in the Southern Section.
Hunt, who went 20-10 last year, is the top-ranked women’s 70s player in both the state and the USTA Southern Section. She advanced as far as the singles and doubles finals of the USTA National Women’s Grass Court Championships while also finishing in the top three in the 70s divisions at the hard court and clay court championships. She was also a member of the South Carolina women’s 65s USTA Southern Senior Cup team.
Hunt is also a Spring League Coordinator on the island.
She will be recognized on Saturday at a USTA Southern banquet along with award winners from seven different states.
