Van Der Meer Junior Classic gets started

The Van Der Meer Junior Classic got underway Friday on Hilton Head Island.

Cleve Harper and Matthew Oliver pulled the tournament's first upsets.

Harper knocked off fourth-seeded Davis Phillips, 6-0, 6-0, in the Boys 14 round of 16, while Oliver eliminated fourth-seeded Hunter Benefield, 6-0, 6-4, in the Boys 16 round of 16.
