Hilton Head hosting 55 and over, 75 and over USTA League State Championships

Beginning Thursday, the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center is playing host to the USTA S.C. 55 and Over and 75 and Over League State Championships.

While Palmetto Dunes is the host site, matches also will be played at Sea Pines Country Club, Moss Creek Tennis Center, Shipyard and Country Club of Hilton Head.

In the 55 and Over division, there are men's and women's divisions for 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 9.0. For 75 and Over, there are men's 3.0 and 3.5 divisions and women's 3.5.

Several teams from the Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and Beaufort areas are in the draws.

For the 75 and Over division, play begins at 8 a.m. Thursday with finals 8 a.m. Saturday, if needed. For the 55 and Over division, play begins 8 a.m. Saturday with semifinals and finals on Monday.

All finals will be held at Palmetto Dunes. The tournament is open to spectators.
