McCombs: High school football season is here

High school football season is upon us again.

Five of the area's 10 teams will kick off Week Zero games on Friday night, with the other five making their debut next week.

The best place to find coverage will be in the pages of the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette and on our website at http://www.islandpacket.com/high-school-football.

Aug. 29 -- Week 1

Beaufort Academy at WW King, 7:30 p.m.

Beaufort High at Colleton County, 7:30 p.m.

Bethesda Day School at Hilton Head Prep, 5 p.m.

Thomas Heyward Academy at Bible Baptist, 7 p.m.

Whale Branch at Hilton Head Island, 7:30 p.m.
