A visitor to Broncos’ stadium helpfully noted to team employee the stands were on fire

A group on tour of Empower Field at Mile High, the Denver Broncos’ stadium, got to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event on Thursday.

No, they didn’t meet any star players or heroes from the past. Instead they caught a glimpse of a fire that broke out in the stadium.

“Ma’am there’s a fire in the stadium,” a man can be heard saying in a video, “it’s over on the, ah, east side on the club level.”

Twitter user Kate Braboy shared that video of the person pointing out the fire to the Broncos employee:

Later the group was told to leave the stadium because the fire had grown.

The Denver Fire Department shared photos from the blaze.

CBS4 in Denver reported six rows of seats in two sections were destroyed. “About 100 people were attending an event on the second level, but the stadium was otherwise empty,” CBS4 said.
