A Target in California is selling posters declaring 49ers as Super Bowl LIV champs

Is this revisionist history or just a big mistake?

It’s the latter in all likelihood, but it was still jarring for a 49ers fan shopping at Target in Livermore, California to find posters featuring his favorite team.

The problem? The posters declare the 49ers as Super Bowl LIV champions.

As we all know, the Chiefs went home with the Lombardi Trophy, so those posters should have been destroyed or recycled or whatever happens to memorabilia for the losing team in a championship game or series.

But Twitter user Alex Tran, who is the social media manager/content producer for Niners Nation, stumbled upon the championship posters:

Here’s the thing: while many 49ers fans were dismayed to see the posters, some actually want to buy one.
