An apparent brake failure on pit road cast a shadow over Gus Dean's ARCA Racing Series start Friday night, leaving two pit crew members injured when the Bluffton driver's car didn't stop in time during an early pit stop at Pocono Raceway.

Jack operator Jon House and tire changer Pedro Martinez were struck when Dean's No. 98 Chevrolet continued through his pit box during a caution-period stop 15 laps into the ModSpace 150.

Though Martinez managed to get up and hobble away in short order, House stayed on the pavement for several minutes while track medics attended to him. He eventually got up and walked to a waiting ambulance under his own power.

There was no immediate update on their conditions by the end of the race, where Chase Briscoe notched his fourth consecutive ARCA victory.

Dean placed 19th, six laps down as the result of repairs in the immediate aftermath of the accident. It ended a run of three consecutive top-10 finishes for the ARCA rookie, including an April victory at Talladega Superspeedway.

Friday's race was the second of back-to-back starts for Dean, who placed ninth at last week's stop in Indianapolis. It also marked the debut of a new associate sponsor in Bosch Home Appliances, brought in with the help of primary sponsor GREE cooling and heating systems.

Team owner Mason Mitchell served as Dean's crew chief on Friday, seeking another spark as in April's triumph at Talladega. Spotter Tyler Green, a veteran of dozens of Sprint Cup races, also returned to that role.
