Battery Creek linebacker Sonja Jones had a medical episode after Friday night's loss at home to Bishop England.
Jones was not well after the game and was loaded on a stretcher and checked out by Beaufort County EMS. He eventually was taken to the hospital.
Dolphins head coach Jim Shuman said the issue was "completely non-football-related" and Jones was fine and practiced with the team on Monday.
Shuman said Jones had some sort of stomach issue and got "real sick."
"They had some name for it," Shuman said. "He left that night after they checked him out. It was a little scary because he was real dehydrated. But he's OK."
Jones is one of the Dolphins' top defensive players. He's played the past couple of games with a cast on his hand.
The Dolphins (4-6) face Timberland (8-2) on Friday in the first round of the Class 2-A Division I playoffs.
