John Paul II’s Slusane voted Island Packet’s high school football Player of Week
The votes are in, and John Paul II offensive/defensive lineman Sebastian Slusane wins the vote for The Island Packet’s High School Football Player of the Week.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.
Player of Week nominees
Tony O’Banner, RB/QB/LB, Thomas Heyward: Junior was 9-of-13 passing for 139 yards two touchdowns and rushed for 115 yards and two scores. He also had seven tackles on defense in the win over Patrick Henry.
Zavier Polite, DE, May River: Sophomore had 13 tackles, one tackle for loss and three QB pressures in a win over Colleton County.
Sebastian Slusane, DE/OL/K, John Paul II: Senior had eight tackles, two sacks and blocked a field goal in a loss to First Baptist. He also averaged 38.5 yards on two punts.
Derrick Smalls, WR, Battery Creek: Senior returned two punts for touchdowns of 70 and 87 yards and had a 62-yard receiving TD.
Wenson Smith, RB, Ridgeland: Smith carried it 10 times for 175 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Denmark-Olar
Carnell Warren, WR, Bluffton: Junior had eight catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Beaufort.
