High School Football

Which teams made a jump in the rankings of the top NC, SC high school football teams?

The top five spots in this week’s Carolinas Top 25 high school football rankings remain the same, but there are some changes.

Most notably, T.L. Hanna, from Anderson, S.C., jumped eight spots to No. 8.

Hanna (8-1) has won six straight games, including Friday’s 36-33 victory against Simpsonville Hillcrest.

Providence Day (8-0) from Charlotte maintains the top spot, followed by two teams from Greensboro: No. 2 Grimsley (8-0) and No. 3 Dudley (8-0).

Providence Day will play Georgia’s Rabun Gap, which competes in the N.C. private school league, in what will be the biggest game in N.C. so far this season among all classifications, public or private.

In the MaxPreps statewide rankings, Rabun Gap is No. 1 and Providence Day is No. 2.
