Beaufort, Hilton Head Christian, Battery Creek football pick up non-region victories

Kacy Fields is getting the hang of playing full-time running back.

The Beaufort senior rushed for 341 yards and five touchdowns to help the Eagles to a 55-23 victory over Bluffton on Friday night.

In two games since being moved from receiver to running back, Fields has racked up more than 500 yards.

Quarterback Samari Bonds was 10-of-15 passing for 150 yards and two touchdowns. Colton Phares caught five passes for 116 yards and two scores.

Eitan Golfphin and Jaylin Linder had touchdowns for the Bobcats.

Battery Creek 19, Whale Branch 13

The Dolphins opened their renovated stadium by knocking off the Warriors, who were ranked ? in the latest Class A poll.

Jeremiah Mceachin ran for two scores and Damien Freeman added another for the Dolphins, who led 12-0 at halftime.

Whale Branch cut the lead to 12-6 on Jakhi Pusha TD pass to Keith Chisholm but Mceachin’s second touchdown put Battery Creek up 19-6 midway through the fourth quarter.

Hilton Head Christian 43, Beaufort Academy 34

Quarterback Dylan Clark threw three touchdown passes and ran for two scores as Hilton Head Christian handed Beaufort Academy its first loss of the season.

HHCA trailed 14-13 but returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to lead 20-14. The Eagles went up 29-20 on Clark TD pass to Harrison Arnholt and a two-point conversion.

Braydon Dineen hit Jackson Davis on a 40-yard TD to cut the lead to 29-27 with a minute left in the third. Dineen had two TD passes for BA. Davonte Green also had two TD runs and Jaxon Porter added one.

After Clark scored to make it 36-27, Ja’Sean Lawson scored on a 10-yard run to cut it to 36-34 with seven minutes left.

But Clark and HHCA answered right back with a 8-yard TD run.

Thomas Heyward 45, Andrew Jackson 20

Anthony Fripp ran for four touchdowns and also caught a TD pass in the Rebels’ victory.

Thomas Heyward is now 5-0 on the season.

Florence Christian 35, John Paul II 16

Juels Huntley and Gabe McLaughlin combined for five touchdowns to help Florence Christian to a road win over the Warriors.

Huntley finished with 185 yards and three TDs while McLaughlin had two scores. FC’s Juw-El Huntley also had a TD pass to Braiden Bevan.

JP II’s Christian Tilton ran for a touchdown and threw one to Jackson Ogden.

Pee Dee Academy 40, Hilton Head Prep 14

Quarterback Hudson Spivey had a big night passing to help Pee Dee past Hilton Head Prep.

Spivey threw for 248 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers in the victory.

Cane Bay 21, May River 0

Cane Bay scored twice in the first half on its way to a win over the Sharks.

It was the first time May River has been shut out since 2016, which was its first season of varsity football.
