SCISA roundup, scores: HHCA, Thomas Heyward, Beaufort Academy notch wins

Jace Blackshear threw three touchdowns as HHCA rolled to its second win of the season with a 44-8 win over Northwood Academy on Friday.

JP Peduzzi also had a big night, running for a TD, throwing for one and catching a TD from Blackshear.

Jayden Void had a TD catch on a shovel pass from Blackshear in the second quarter. Void landed awkwardly on his arm in the end zone and left the game with an injury.

Thomas Heyward 30, Trinity Collegiate 14

Peyton Bennett threw for a touchdown and ran for one as the Rebels won the matchup of SCISA state champions on Friday.

Thomas Heyward won last year’s SCISA Class A crown while Trinity Collegiate won the 2A title before moving up to 3A this year.

The Rebels held the ball for most of the third and beginning of the fourth quarter after recovering onside kicks. JT Pusha had a 6-yard TD catch from Bennett to put THA up 24-14 in the third.

After recovering the onside kick, the Rebels made it 30-14 on Brandon Howard’s 1-yard score.

Beaufort Academy 28, Colleton Prep 12

Beaufort Academy moved to 2-1 on the season with a win over Colleton.

Ja’Sean Lawson ran for three touchdowns and Braydon Dineen had a score for the Eagles.

Bethesda Academy 30, John Paul II 20

Antjuan McKay ran for 248 yards and three touchdowns in Bethesda’s win over John Paul.

Keshon Leggett added 146 yards and Adrian O’Kee rushed for 100 yards and a TD for BA.

Jackson Ogden scored twice and Jeremiah Young ran for a score for the Warriors.

St. Andrew’s 14, Hilton Head Prep 14 (tie)

Harrison Green threw for two touchdowns to Carson King in the first half as the Dolphins tied St. Andrews.

The game ended in a tie because of darkness and heavy rain.

Green finished with 52 yards passing. King rushed for 52 yards and caught a pair of passes for 46. He also had seven tackles on defense.

Tommy Staffer led HHP with 80 yards on the ground and had four tackles.

Girls Golf

May River wins another region match

Sydney Bowes shot a 37 and May River girls golf team won a region match with Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and Beaufort.

The Sharks shot a 166 and HHI had 190. HHI’s Alexia Milbrandt earned medalist honors with a 36. Robin Zetrouer shot a season-best 42 for MR.
