Injured Bluffton player back home after leaving playoff in ambulance
Bluffton cornerback Devon Chisolm, who left the Bobcats’ playoff loss in an ambulance Friday night, was back home Saturday after getting the all-clear from medical personnel.
Privacy laws prevent school officials from disclosing the nature of Chisolm’s injury, but coach Ken Cribb confirmed the senior had been released back home.
“He was checked out and released,” Cribb said Saturday. “He's home.”
Play was delayed for some 20 minutes just after halftime of Bluffton’s 14-7 loss to Brookland-Cayce in Friday night’s Class 3A Lower State semifinal. Chisolm, a senior, had brought down Bearcats running back Rasheed Taylor with a big hit along the B-C sideline at the end of a 21-yard pass.
The Bearcats eventually overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit with a pair of Taylor TD runs in the second half, dashing Bluffton’s unbeaten season.
