High school football result: Hilton Head vs. Berkeley

Berkeley 63, Hilton Head Island 28: Aerimon Gipson's 35-yard interception return for a touchdown capped Berkeley's 35-point opening blitz that stunned the Seahawks in the Region 8-4A opener for both teams.

Darius Douglas ran for one touchdown and threw for another in Berkeley's opening salvo, which Hilton Head (4-2, 0-1 region) could not counter until Bryce Singleton's 5-yard run and 2-point conversion late in the half.

Singleton, back at receiver with quarterback Collin Kaiser returning to action, also scored on a 2-yard run in the second half. Tyler Hamilton also ran for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a 77-yard scamper that capped the scoring.

D.J. Robinson and Demond Navarre added two rushing TDs apiece for Berkeley (4-2, 1-0).
