High school roundup, Feb. 11: Thomas Heyward boys top John Paul II

Thomas Heyward Academy earned a much-needed win in the final home game of the season, 77-52, over John Paul II.

Senior Micayel Bennett lead the Rebels with 14 points, and junior Will Weaver stepped up big with 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

"We finally played to our potential,” Rebels head coach Bob Layman said. "It was nice to see the guys play so well together. Everyone contributed. Every single player scored. A total team effort."

John Paul II's Nyeem Wright finished with 14 points, followed by Dawson Loper with 11.
