High school roundup, Feb. 9: Beaufort Academy swept by Bible Baptist

The Beaufort Academy girls basketball team dropped a disappointing region road game to Bible Baptist 37-34 on Monday in Savannah.

Rebecca Conley led Bible Baptist with 15 points, followed by Kaitlyn Copeland with 12. Sissy Mungin paced BA with 17, followed by freshman Emma Higgins with eight.

Beaufort Academy (8-11, 3-6) will face Thomas Heyward at 6 p.m. Thursday at home.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Bible Baptist 68, Beaufort Academy 55: Bible Baptist used a 10-0 run midway through the third quarter and an effective defense to cruise past Beaufort Academy on Monday night in Savannah.

The Braves were led by Jordan Mills, who scored a game-high 24 points.

Beaufort Academy got a career-high 19 points from Ross Walker. Alec Melville and Kevin Williams scored 11 and 10 points respectively.

Beaufort Academy fell to 15-6 (9-4) with one region game remaining at home against Thomas Heyward on Thursday night.
