Whale Branch boys move on, two Lowcountry teams eliminated in playoffs
Whale Branch boys are moving on the in the Class 2A basketball playoffs.
Shawn Chisholm scored 24 points and all-state selection Nick Pringle had 15 as the Warriors defeated Mullins, 69-47, on Wednesday night.
Whale Branch hosts Burke on Saturday in the second round. Burke defeated Columbia, 68-57 in the first round.
Aiken 46, Bluffton 41
Bluffton did its best to slow down Aiken’s RJ Felton but it still wasn’t enough in the first round of the 4A playoffs.
Felton, the all-state selection, was held to nine points but Charvis Jones scored 15 points as the Hornets defeated the Bobcats.
North Myrtle Beach 73, Hilton Head Island 51
Chad Beasley scored 17 and Javi Marlowe had 13 as the Chiefs knocked the Seahawks out of the first round of the 4A playoffs.
Gaston Moore led HHI with 19 points and Dean Seelbach added 11.
