Basketball roundup: Bluffton girls, Hilton Head boys claim Bridge Bowl battles

Dean Seelbach scored 13 points and Sam Summa scored 10 as Hilton Head Island swept the season series from Bluffton, 35-24, on Friday in boys high school basketball.

Lee Kirkland led Bluffton with 10 points.

Colleton County 88, Beaufort 64

The Eagles dropped a region contest to Colleton County.

Oliver Holmes led Beaufort with 14 points. Jamaad Rivers had 11 points, Zyrin Odom had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Hiiton Head Prep 76, Thomas Heyward 47

Tyrone Calloway had a game-high 31 points and Stone McDonald scored 17 points to lead the Dolphins in the win.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville 65, May River 41

The Jaguars maintained first place in Region 8-3A with the win over the Sharks.

Brandon Howard led R-H with 21 points. Mauriq Singleton and Shaleaf Cherry each added 11 for the Jags.

Harry Cash led May River with 10 points.

Hilton Head Island 55, Hilton Head Prep 47 (Wednesday)

Dean Seelbach poured in 14 points to lead the Seahawks past the Dolphins in a non-region matchup.

Tyrone Calloway scored 20 points to lead the Dolphins and Stone McDonald scored 14 points.

Bluffton 54, Hilton Head Island 36

Bluffton picked up a share of the Region 8-4A title Friday night.

Tatyana Aiken led the way for Bluffton for 16 and Tacoya Heyward scored 13.

Miley Ray and Kenzie Ryan each scored 12 points to lead the Seahawks. Chyna Fields had seven points.

Colleton County 33, Beaufort 32

Layla Warren scored 14 points and Sequoia Smalls followed with nine points to lead Beaufort.

The Eagles missed a game-tying free throw with three seconds left.

May River 63, Ridgeland-Hardeeville 37

May River won its eighth game in a row Friday night.

Chynna Sneed a balanced attack with 19 points. Emma Peluso added 10 while Jordan Bigham and Gracyn Drury each put up seven.

Ashiana Scott led the Jags with 14.

Hilton Head Christian 76, Beaufort Academy 47

Hilton Head Christian won its 21st game with a dominating win Friday.

Dior Shelton scored 33 points to lead the Eagles. Jasmine Campbell had 11 points and Abby Peduzzi scored 10.

Mike’Ala Washington led Beaufort Academy with 16 points and Amelia Huebel had 11.

Hilton Head Prep 42, Thomas Heyward 8

Haylee Hopman had a 19 points and Ella Clark scored 10 points to lead Hilton Head Prep, which evened its record at 10-10.

John Paul II 52, Bridges Prep 12 (Wednesday)

RuNaishia Bennett scored 13 points and 20 rebounds in the Warriors’ victory.

Paige Weniger added 15 points for JP II.

Hilton Head Prep 28, Hilton Head Island 23 (Wednesday)

Haylee Hopman had eight points and Ella Clark seven in the Dolphins in their win over the Seahawks

Miley Ray led HHI with 12 points.
