Lowcountry roundup: Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys headed to third round of playoffs

Rashamel Butler and Devin Butler each had big nights as Ridgeland-Hardeeville defeated Dillon, 72-59 on Friday in the Class 3A playoffs.

The Jaguars host Bishop England on Tuesday with the winner advancing to the Lower State championship. Tuesday’s game might be moved to Battery Creek because R-H’s gym doesn’t seat at least 1,500, a requirement by the South Carolina High School League to host a third-round game.

Rashamel Butler led the way for R-H with 26 points, and Devin Butler had 22.

The Jaguars went on a 17-0 run in the first quarter to lead 22-6. Dillon cut the lead to six points in the third quarter, but R-H answered with a 17-8 run to lead 55-43.
