Lowcountry basketball teams get ready postseason

The high school basketball playoffs get under way Monday night as three Lowcountry girls teams are in action.

Battery Creek hosts Lake Marion and Ridgeland-Hardeeville hosts Hanahan. May River is at Manning in the 3A playoffs.

On Tuesday, Beaufort girls will be at Myrtle Beach in the 4A playoffs.

On Wednesday, Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys host Lake Marion while May River is at Bishop England and Bluffton goes to Manning in 3A. In 4A, Hilton Head travels to No. 1 ranked Wilson in the 4A playoffs.

Second-round games will be Thursday through Friday and third round Feb. 19-20. Lower state championships are Feb. 23-24 at Florence Civic Center. State championships are March 2-3 a Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

The SCISA playoff brackets get started the following week. Brackets are expected to be released this week.
