Lowcountry roundup: Hilton Head Prep boys, Hilton Head Christian girls clinch region crowns
Hilton Head Prep boys clinched their second straight region title and avenged their only loss this season with a 45-38 win over Bethesda on Tuesday.
The Dolphins (21-1, 12-0) were led by Avern Montaque, who had his 11th double-double of the season by going for 21 points and 10 rebounds. Tyrone Calloway added 13 and Haddith Stewart scored nine.
Stone McDonald tied for a team-high with 10 rebounds.
Hilton Head Christian 46, John Paul II 44
Floyd Hargrove scored 16 points and Lukas O’Grady chipped in with 11 to lead HHCA for the come-from-behind victory.
Hilton Head Christian trailed 39-34 with five minutes left.
Amere Cherry scored 17 points and Rashad Battiste had 11 for JPII.

Hilton Head Christian 44, John Paul II 37
Dior Shelton scored 19 points, and Brielle McCarthy added 12 to help HHCA clinch the region title.
Tkai Devore led JP II with 16, and Ayannah Thompson had eight.

Karolina Struharova poured in 20 points and Amelia Huebel added 16 for the Eagles.
