Lowcountry roundup: John Paul II sweeps Beaufort Academy

John Paul II boys picked up its second win in three days against Beaufort Academy with a 63-46 win on Wednesday in high school basketball action.

Amere Cherry led the Warriors (11-10, 7-2) with 22 points, eight rebounds and seven steals. Senior Thomas Kender had seven assists and four steals for JP II.

Dawson Coleman led BA (6-9, 3-7) with 23 points.

GIRLS

John Paul II 49, Beaufort Academy 42

Tkai Devore had 21 points and 10 rebounds and the Warriors defeated Beaufort Academy for the second time this week.

Abigail Barker added eight points and 10 rebounds, and Jasmine Hamilton had six points for the Warriors (18-4).

Becca Freling and Emily Ann Hiers led BA (11-6, 6-3) with seven points apiece.
