Lowcountry roundup: Patterson helps Bluffton to Senior Night win
Jermaine Patterson had a big showing on Senior Night.
The Bluffton senior poured in 30 points as the Bobcats defeated Wade Hampton, 58-48, on Tuesday in boys high school basketball action.
Shamar Sandgren added 10 points and Ramell Rivers scored seven for the Bobcats, who outscored Wade Hampton 20-10 in the fourth quarter.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville 76, Battery Creek
Rashamel Butler scored 19 points while Diamonte Robinson and Devin Butler had 15 in the Jaguars’ win.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville improves to 19-0 on season and 6-0 in region play.
Hilton Head Island 63, Cane Bay 58
Hilton Head Island picked up a key region victory with a 63-58 victory over Cane Bay on Tuesday in boys basketball action.
The Seahawks are now in fourth place in Region 8-4A for the final playoff spot. Chris Washington led Hilton Head with 22 points, and Trevor Wright had 20.

Hadith Stewart scored 21 points and Avern Montaque had another double-double as HHP improved to 18-1, 9-0 in region play.
Montaque had 10 points and 15 rebounds while Tyrone Calloway scored 10 points with seven boards.
Beaufort Academy 86, Crown Academy 33
Dawson Coleman led four Beaufort Academy players in double figures with 18 points.
Rowan Higgins added 15 points while William Tumlin had 14, Thomas Holladay scored 11 and Max Emerson and David Matthai just missed double figures with nine points each.
GIRLS
Colleton County 41, Beaufort 40
Brittany Linton led Beaufort (9-10, 3-4) with 12 points and Jhaniya Lynch had eight.
Bluffton 69, Wade Hampton 35
Tatyana Aiken and Judaah Mitchell combined for 49 points for Bluffton.
Mitchell led the Bobcats with 28 points while Aiken had 21. Bluffton outscored Wade Hampton 23-13 in the second quarter.
Hilton Head Prep 49, St. Andrews 25
Hilton Head Prep led 37-6 at halftime on its way to the win.
Ella Clark led the Dolphins (6-11, 3-5) with 15 points, and Kierstin Clark had 11.
Ridgeland-Hardeeville 47, Battery Creek 29
The Jaguars took over sole possession in region standings with a win over Battery Creek.
