Lowcountry roundup: Hilton Head boys advance to Seahawk Classic final

Chris Washington scored 24 points as host Hilton Head defeated Academic Magnet, 70-47, on Friday in the semifinals of the 31st Seahawk Holiday Classic.

Hilton Head advances to the title game and faces Miramar, 57-55 winners over Marvin Ridge, in the championship game Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Trevor Wright added 18 points, and Davis Malloy had 11. The Seahawks outscored Academic Magnet, 34-18, in the second half.

Carvers Bay 67, Bluffton 43

Stephon Green led four Carvers Bay scorers in double figures for the win at the Panther Classic in Myrtle Beach.

Donovan Raines led Bluffton with 14 points. Star guard Jermaine Patterson had 10 points but left the game with an ankle injury. He tweeted out following the game that it was just a sprain.

Brittany Linton scored 13 points in the loss for Beaufort.

Kaylon Shell had 13 points, while Abbey Townsend and Morgan Headrick each had 10 for Elizabethton.

Bishop Verot 51, Hilton Head 9

Claire Woolam poured in a game-high 18 points for Bishop Verot.
