Lowcountry roundup: Coleman’s big night helps Beaufort Academy past Crown

Dawson Coleman scored 28 points to help Beaufort Academy to a 71-29 win over Crown Academy in boys basketball action Wednesday.

William Tumlin and David Matthai were both in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Daijion Galloway scored 16 points in the loss for Beaufort at the Hoops For Hope Tournament.

Asanti Price led EC with 20 points.

Abby Quinty scored 17 and Tkai Devore had a double-double in John Paul II’s win.

Devore had 12 points and 12 rebounds. Abigail Barker had seven points, and Mary Foster and Ayannah Thompson each had six. Foster and Thompson also had nine rebounds apiece.

John Paul II lost to Whale Branch (42-42, tiebreaker) and Battery Creek (51-24) on Wednesday.
