Lowcountry roundup: Third quarter helps Hilton Head boys past Battery Creek

Hilton Head used a strong third quarter on its way to a 66-63 win over Battery Creek on Tuesday in high school boys basketball action.

The Seahawks, who led 29-28 at halftime, outscored the Dolphins 18-11 in the third quarter. Hilton Head sealed the win by going 8-of-11 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Trevor Wright led HHI wit 28 points, while Chris Washington had 17 and Davis Malloy 14.

Denarol Brown had 16 points to lead BC. Jaquan Burton had 14 points, and Brandon Wilson scored 11.

Battery Creek 49, Hilton Head 28

Led by Kevea Sanders’ 15 points, the Dolphins ran their record to 10-0 on the season.

Ta’Quasia Lampkin scored 14 points and Trinity Coney added 11 for BC.

Caroline Brammer led HHI with eight points, and Trinity Feltner scored six.
