Lowcountry roundup: Beaufort Academy hoops splits with Clarendon Hall
Karolina Struhorova led four players in double figures as Beaufort Academy defeated Clarendon Hall, 58-32, on Monday in girls high school basketball action.
Struhorova had 15 points and was followed by Kendall Duncan and Amelia Huebel’s 11 points. Becca Frelin had 10.

Zion Gilmore hit a foot 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to give Clarendon Hall a win over Beaufort Academy.
Gilmore scored 19 and Kylie Horton scored 15 to lead the Saints (6-1).
Beaufort Academy trailed by 15 points in the first half and took the lead before Gilmore hit back-to-back 3-pointers.
Beaufort Academy’s Dawson Coleman led all scorers with 32 points. Jaxon Spratling added 10 for the Eagles (1-1).
WRESTLING
Seahawks finish fourth in Invitational
The Hilton Head Island wrestling team placed fourth in this weekend’s Wildcat St. Nick Wrestling Invitational at Richmond Hill High School in Georgia.
Alex Braden won the championship in the 145-pound class while Billy Christie was second in the 170-pound class. Third place finishers were Kyle Riddle (126) and Rawlin Szewczyk (120) and Mario Sosa (182) was fourth.
Winning multiple matches in the consolation rounds were Jesus Catalan (106), Ethan Meselam (113), Josh Vigh (120) and Ian Gardner (170).
The Seahawks will travel to Myrtle Beach this week to participate in the Coastal Clash.
Beaufort finishes fourth at Demon Holiday Classic
The Beaufort wrestling team came in fourth at this weekend’s Demon Holiday Classic at Lugoff-Elgin High School.
The Eagles finished with 148.5 points in the 32-team field. Host Lugoff-Elgin (261.5) won the event with Cane Bay coming in second and River Bluff third.
Beaufort’s Luis Pantoja (120) and Justin Campbell (145) were champions in their weight classes. Jacob Workman and Isaiah McElveen (138) were fifth.
