High school basketball result: Whale Branch boys vs. Calhoun County

Calhoun County 49, Whale Branch 46: Camrin Miller scored 20 points as the Warriors’ second-half rally fell short on opening night of the Shootout by the Sea in North Myrtle Beach.

Kenny Brown added 10 points for Whale Branch (5-4), which trailed 26-17 at intermission before staging its comeback attempt. George Delaney chipped in with eight points and Xyion Youmans had six.

Zamuel Fredrick led Calhoun County with 19 points, including five 3-pointers.
