High school basketball result: HHCA girls vs. George Walton

HHCA opens season with tournament crown: Macee Tamminen scored 19 points and Jossie Frazier added 17 in leading Hilton Head Christian to the championship of the Savannah Christian Holiday Classic, cruising past George Walton 52-31 in Tuesday night's final.

The Lady Eagles broke through George Walton's pressure to take control of the game with 17 third-quarter points, opening up a 39-21 advantage heading into the final period. A trio of HHCA 3-pointers helped spark the surge.

Brielle McCarthy added eight points for the Lady Eagles (2-0), who captured the SCISA 2A state title two years ago and reached the semifinals last season.
