High school basketball result: John Paul II boys vs. Patrick Henry

John Paul II 60, Patrick Henry 40: Nyleem Wright scored 18 points and pulled down five rebounds as the Golden Warriors made their first appearance at the new John Paul II Athletic Center a victorious one.

After reaching halftime tied 23-23, a strong defensive third quarter saw JP2 hold the visitors to just six points in opening up a 45-29 lead. The Golden Warriors wound up forcing 34 turnovers on the night.

Mark Tigges just missed a double-double for the Golden Warriors, tallying nine points and 10 rebounds, while Rashad Battiste totaled 10 points, five rebounds and five steals.
