HH Prep, Thomas Heyward championship games are on for Wednesday

Two teams vying for South Carolina Independent School Association state titles will take to the diamond tonight.

Hilton Head Prep baseball coach Dobbie Green said this morning that his team will host Calhoun Academy at 5 p.m. tonight, after Tuesday’s storms rained out Game 2 of the best-of-three-games series.

Prep won the first game of the series 5-0 on Monday at Calhoun.

Thomas Heyward Academy softball will host Williamsburg Academy at 6:30 p.m. tonight – the teams also saw the second game of their series postponed because of rain.

Thomas Heyward won its first game 2-1, also on the road.

“So far we are playing,” Rebels coach Bob Layman wrote in a text this morning to the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette. “Field took the rain well.”
