High school golf report: Class 3A state tournament

May River High School shot a 325 on Monday and is in fourth place after the first round of the SCHSL Class 3A state golf tournament at True Blue Golf Course on Pawley’s Island.

Waccamaw, the host team, leads after shooting a 290.

May River’s Brandon McBride fired a three-under 69 and is the clubhouse leader for medalist honors. Tied for second is his teammate, Drew Weary, who shot 71.
