High school wrestling result: Whale Branch Lower State tournament

Eight Whale Branch wrestlers earned berths in next weekend’s Class 2A state tournament.

Jamel Moultrie qualifed Saturday by securing the Lower State title at 145 pounds. The other Whale Branch qualifiers include Thomas Vicuna (third place, 160), Malik Moultrie (fourth, 106), Taqui Polite (fourth, 132), DeAndre Green (fourth, 138), Jaheem Hazel (fourth, 170), Irvin Mulligan (fourth, 195) and Storm Polite (fourth, 285).
