Sarah Cooke paced a parade of six Hilton Head Island runners among the girls’ top 10, while the Seahawk boys had four among the top 11 in cruising to twin cross country titles at the Class 4A Lower State meet Saturday in Darlington.

Cooke completed the 5K course in 19 minutes, 22.52 seconds, a little more than seven seconds ahead of teammate Tori Herman. Esther Anderson placed fourth, Sarah Neville sixth and Emmy Todd eighth, as the Seahawks were the only ones to average less than 20 minutes as a team.

Hilton Head also got a 10th-place finish from Valeria Morales, though her time didn’t count toward the team competition.

Nahuel Coronel led a 1-3-4 finish for the Seahawks in the boys’ race, crossing in 16:46.89, which was more than 12 seconds ahead of his nearest pursuer. Corbin McKenney was third and David Robinson fourth, with Zach Waters coming in 11th.

Beaufort placed fifth in the boys’ competition, led by Justin Campbell in 20th, and the girls finished ninth.
