High school cross country result: SCISA regionals at USCB

Prep boys, HHCA girls win SCISA regionals: Ryan Nimmer's individual victory proved key as Hilton Head Prep edged John Paul II by a point to notch its third consecutive SCISA regional crown over USC Beaufort's course in Hardeeville.

Hilton Head Christian claimed the girls' title, with Prep finishing second and JP2 third.

Nimmer's victory helped Prep's boys finish with 53 points in the team competition, with John Paul II picking up 54.

The teams will run again next weekend at the SCISA state meet at Heathwood Hall in Columbia. John Paul II captured its first state title in any sport at last year's 1A meet, but faces a stiffer challenge now after moving up to Class 2A.
