Hilton Head Prep sweeps into SCISA girls’ tennis semifinals
Lindsey Zimmerman and Catie Meighan swept to singles victories without dropping a game in powering the Dolphins to the semifinals of the SCISA girls’ tennis tournament, cruising past Pee Dee Academy 6-0 in Tuesday’s Class 2A quarterfinal match at Beaufort Academy.
Hilton Head Prep (11-1) advanced to a Friday match in Sumter against the winner of Wednesday’s match between Carolina Academy and Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. The final also will be played in Sumter on Saturday.
Zimmerman was a 6-0, 6-0 winner over Madison Collins in No. 1 singles, while Meighan posted the same score at No. 2 singles over Paige Eskridge.
The rest of the Dolphins’ singles lineup also won in straight sets, negating any need to go into doubles competition. Alex Voulgaropolis, Cori Leonard, Riley Kuehler and Lauren Harvey completed the sweep.
