High school golf result: Class 4A Lower State tournament

Seahawks 3rd at 4A Lower State: Emma Hayward carded an 80 as Hilton Head Island finished one stroke out of a share of second place in the Class 4A tournament at Hartsville Country Club.

St. James ran away with its fourth consecutive Lower State title, with four scores of 87 or better that left the Sharks with a 319 team total -- 39 strokes ahead of the chase pack. Hartsville was second at 358, with the Seahawks at 359 to punch their ticket to next week’s state tournament.

Madeline Prince posted an 87 for Hilton Head Island, with Morgan Caramello shooting 95.
