High school volleyball result: Hilton Head Christian at Cardinal Newman Invitational

Eagles win Silver division crown: Sydney DeSimone was named to the All-Tournament team as Hilton Head Christian captured the Silver division of last weekend’s Cardinal Newman Invitational volleyball tournament in Columbia.

The Eagles went 4-1-1 during the tournament, including a two-set sweep of First Baptist in the title match that marked HHCA’s first victory over the Charleston powerhouse. They also earned a split with five-time SCISA champion Spartanburg Christian.

HHCA’s only loss in the event came against Richland Northside, beaten 25-18 in both sets by the Class 4A public school.
