Koty Brigham capped off the inning with an RBI groundout, scoring Clark to put the Seahawks ahead 4-3. Hilton Head added a run in the sixth on Eric Foggo’s sacrifice fly, providing cushion when Bluffton pushed across a run in the top of the seventh.

Troy Clifford scattered four Bluffton hits over six innings for the win, with Ian Foggo pitching the seventh for the save. Andrew Eldridge had an RBI double for Bluffton and Tristan Lowe added an RBI single.

Before the game, the Seahawks held a brief ceremony formally renaming the baseball field for Costello, the longtime athletics volunteer who passed away in August.

Hilton Head Prep 13, Battery Creek 3: Gage Hurlbut and E.J. Churchich homered to lead a 16-hit offensive display as Prep overcame an early 3-0 deficit.

Churchich homered to lead off the third inning, and Hurlbut’s three-run homer capped a six-run outburst in the sixth that triggered the 10-run rule. Hurlbut wound up with four RBIs on the game, while Churchich drove in three.

Ricky Ledee banged out three hits for Prep, including a two-run triple. Reese Irwin picked up the win in relief, holding Battery Creek to one hit in four innings of work.

John Paul II 10, Memorial Day 0: Blake Parsons went 3-for-4 and Mark Tigges and Thomas Kender added two hits each as the Golden Warriors collected 12 hits in all.

Kender also was stellar on the mound, scattering five hits in a complete-game shutout. He struck out six.

First Baptist 10, Hilton Head Christian 3: James Bartholomew singled twice and drove home a run for the Eagles, who took a 3-3 tie into the sixth inning before First Baptist broke things open.

Alex Angus and Kam Olin also notched singles wins for Beaufort. Bluffton’s lone point came from Matt Ball in singles.
