HiltonHead

Ricky Ledee belted a three-run homer Thursday and Hilton Head Prep also got solo shots from Tyler Fox and Gavin Hurlbut in cruising to a 13-2 baseball victory over Hilton Head Christian.

Fox also excelled on the mound, striking out 10 Eagles hitters in five innings while scattering just two hits. Cem Caglayan doubled twice as part of a three-hit performance for the Dolphins (8-3).

Both of HHCA’s hits came in the fifth as John Blackshire singled, Dargan Cherry walked and Connor Handy brought both of them home with a double. The Eagles fell to 3-5 on the season.

Beaufort 6, Battery Creek 0: Brice Adkins pounded out three hits and Jeffrey Smyth doubled twice to propel the Eagles.

Beaufort’s Drew Luckey was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits while striking out seven.

Thomas Heyward 15, Calhoun Academy 0: Liz Bunton and Hannah Cannon drove home three runs apiece as the Rebels scored seven runs in the first inning and put it away with five in the fifth.

Sydney Glassberg had three of Thomas Heyward's 12 hits, while Bunton doubled among her two hits. Ivy Bryan drove home two runs.

Selice Daley turned in another shutout performance, striking out 12 Calhoun Academy batters over five innings and giving up just two hits.

Battery Creek 16, Garrett Tech 0: Emily Crosby drove home three runs and scored three herself as the Dolphins needed just three innings to reach double digits for the sixth consecutive game.
