Jack Flowers scored four goals Saturday, while Duncan Marx and Benton Soule added three apiece as Hilton Head Island wrapped up a high-powered boys' lacrosee road swing with a 16-2 romp at Socastee.

Logan Johnston and Layton Kirby added two goals each for the Seahawks (6-1), who wound up scoring 35 goals in their two-day travels. Hilton Head opened its trip with a 19-2 dusting of Waccamaw.

Marx added six assists to his day against Socastee, while Colin Courtney led the defense with two takeaways and 10 ground balls.

SOFTBALL

Thomas Heyward captures Warhawks Classic: Selice Daley scattered four hits over four tournament games as the Rebels rolled through the field, capped by a 10-0 victory over Marlboro Academy in Saturday night's championship game.

Daley gave up just one hit in the final, facing the minimum number of batters as Hannah Cannon picked off the Marlboro baserunner on the very next pitch. Daley struck out six in the final, giving her 38 for the Classic with just two walks.

Morgan Peeples blasted a grand slam in the fourth to lead Thomas Heyward (14-1) at the plate, one of two hits on the day. Daley, Cannon and Ivy Bryan also had two hits apiece in the final.

BASEBALL

Hilton Head Prep 11, Heathwood Hall 1: Tyler Fox struck out eight in four innings on the mound and capped the Dolphins' attack with a deep homer to score his third run of the day.

Fox also doubled, giving him more hits than the one he allowed to Heathwood Hall's batters. Reese Irwin also homered for Prep (6-3) and drove home three runs.

GIRLS' SOCCER

John Paul II 2, King's Academy 0: Brigid Murphy scored twice and goalkeeper Gianna Torinese made four saves as the Golden Warriors notched their first win of the season.

Gabby Barnett assisted on one of Murphy's goals, and a gritty defensive effort helped Torinese preserve the shutout against a furious King's Academy attack.

BOYS' SOCCER

King's Academy 4, John Paul II 3: Elijah Moreno scored twice and Karl Johnson added another goal as the Golden Warriors fell short of a third consecutive victory.

Josue Hurtado assisted on all three goals for the Warriors (2-6). Craig Balerna and Sam Villalobos combined for nine saves while splitting time in goal.

The contest began little more than three hours after Villalobos, defender Jalen Mutire and coach Matt Dakalios combined to win the relay division of the Parris Island Triathlon.

The trio completed the course in 57 minutes, 37 seconds as Villalobos swam the opening leg, Dakalios took the 10-mile bicycle leg and Mutire ran the closing 5K.
