High school sports, March 5: Hilton Head Prep baseball reaches Warhawk final

Tyler Fox homered, doubled twice and drove in four runs Friday as Hilton Head Prep earned a berth in the championship game of the Warhawk Invitational with a 17-2 romp over Thomas Heyward Academy.

Kyle Adkins also drove home four runs with a 3-for-4 performance as the Dolphins (4-0) advanced to face host Colleton Prep in Saturday’s final.

Cem Caglayan struck out seven Rebels over four innings to earn the win for Hilton Head Prep.

BOYS LACROSSE

Hilton Head 13, Porter-Gaud 5: Duncan Marx scored six goals and assisted on four others to propel the Seahawks (3-1).

Jack Flowers added five goals and two assists for Hilton Head, while Colin Courtney again led the defense with five takeaways and 14 ground balls. Courtney’s 50 ground balls this season currently leads the state.
