3 area teams ranked in state wrestling polls; 4 wrestlers hold top spots

The new state high school wrestling rankings are out and three area teams remain in the top five of their classifications.

In Class 3-A, Hilton Head Island is No. 2, while defending state runner-up Beaufort is fifth.

In Class-2-A/1-A, defending state champion Battery Creek is fifth.

Four area wrestlers are No. 1 in their weight class and classification.

Hilton Head Island has two in the top spot. Talon Seitz, last year's 4-A state champion at 145 pounds at Bluffton, is No. 1 in 3-A at 170 pounds, while teammate Martin Duane, last year's 3-A runner up at 182 pounds, is first in the same class.

Beaufort's Tramone Jenkins, the defending state champion at 113 pounds, is No. 1 at 113 in 3-A.

In 2-A/1-A, Battery Creek junior Omar Daniels, last year's state runner-up at 120 pounds, is No. 1 this year at 132.
