Prep roundup, Dec. 18: Hilton Head Prep weathers Hurricanes
Mac Orie scored 18 points and Ian Plummer added 13 to lead the Hilton Head Prep boys basketball team over the Coastal Hurricanes 59-42 on Thursday night.
Josh Polk led the Dolphins with eight rebounds and added nine points.
"The boys were coming out of exams, and we've not practiced a lot," Prep head coach Jerry Faulkner said. "But everybody got to play, and that was good to see."

Beaufort Academy 74, John Paul II 48: Luke Harper's career-high 30 points led Beaufort Academy to a home victory over undermanned John Paul II on Thursday night.
Kevin Williams also had a good all-around game for the Eagles, scoring 21 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out seven assists.
John Paul II was led by Nyleem Wright with 11 points.
The Eagles enter the holiday break with an overall record of 5-2. They will host St. Andrews in a region game on Jan. 5.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Beaufort Academy 46, John Paul II 23: The Eagles head into the holiday break with a 5-2 record after beating JPII.
After a slow start, Sissy Mungin scored 16 of her 26 points in the third quarter. Mary Keane finished with eight points, while Amelia Huebel scored six points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
The Eagles will start region play by hosting St. Andrews on Jan. 5.
Hilton Head Prep 32, Coastal Hurricanes 20: Catherine Sheehan had 15 points to lead the Lady Dolphins (3-3).
